Level 7 Basic Anti-Wrinkle Course

Anti-Wrinkle injections are one of the most popular cosmetic/aesthetic treatments in the world and there are a plethora of people that swear by the youth-keeping injections. They are also one of the oldest, well known and trusted non-surgical aesthetics procedures. Anti-Wrinkle injections work by blocking the nerve signals to certain muscles. The muscles then become more relaxed, this reduces the appearance of lines and wrinkles on the skin. The substance freezes muscle movement by blocking neurotransmitters and this effect lasts for 6-8 months, once you’ve had it injected, the effects on the muscles usually become apparent within a few hours, with the main effects appearing after about a week.

And while it is immensely popular for aesthetic purposes, they are actually pretty handy for other conditions too, including stopping excessive sweat (Hyperhidrosis).

In the basic anti-wrinkle course we train our delegates to inject safely and competently in the three most common areas of the face that are affected by fine lines and wrinkles, this course covers the most popular and widely sought after anti-wrinkle treatment areas.

Course content

The Basic Anti-Wrinkle course will assist students in gaining a much deeper informative insight into the field of anti-wrinkle injectables and will provide those with the practical skills needed to either start their own clinic or add a lucrative extra stream of income to an existing beauty salon, spa or aesthetics clinic. Some clients have also worked locum in busy aesthetics or beauty salons in their local areas.

The course will not only address the injecting aspects of anti-wrinkles , but will also teach students how to inject safely in all areas, as well as working with clients to achieve the most desirable yet practical outcome. The following areas will be taught –

  • Frown lines
  • Upper Forehead
  • Crow’s feet/smile lines

How the course is delivered

The course is delivered in two sections; there is a theoretical aspect and a practical aspect.

The theory work –

Upon enrolment onto our basic anti-wrinkle course we will send out a fully CPD approved theory booklet for our clients to work through. We strongly abide and believe in our motto ‘Teaching Excellence through Safety’ (Please See our abut us page)  and due to this our theory booklets differ for medics and non-medics. For non-medics we have extended learning material, particularly in the modules that cover safety, anatomy, injection techniques, and contra-indications .etc. The theory booklet covers the following modules –

  • Treatment information
  • Consultation
  • Medical questionnaire
  • Consent
  • Before & Afters
  • Anatomy
  • Injection techniques
  • Safety & Hygiene
  • Contra-indications
  • Risks, side effects, complications
  • Realistic expectations
  • Legality
  • Topical anaesthetic

At the end of each module you will need to answer two to four questions on the subject matter. It will take about 8 hours of guided learning on this section for medics and 10-12 guided learning hours for non-medics. The workbook answer sheets will be required to be emailed back to us for marking before the practical days.

As was mentioned previously we strongly abide by our motto ‘Teaching Excellence through Safety’ (Please see our abut us page). Our pre-course theory work booklets are more involved and extensive for non-medics in comparison to the booklets aimed at medics. For non-medics we have extended learning material, particularly in the modules that cover safety, anatomy, injection techniques, and contra-indications. etc. By offering this additional support we believe that our non-medic learners can offer quality aesthetics procedures whilst having a better understanding of the anatomy and physiology, thus ‘Teaching Excellence Through Safety’

The Practical day –

The second section of our course is the one day practical day.

The day will start with a 90-minute powerpoint presentation reviewing the theory work and allowing time for any questions and queries in regard to the theory aspect of the course and anti-wrinkle in general. There will also be an introduction and overview of our facilities and training centre.

The remaining time will be spent doing practical work on our models under the direction of our fully trained aesthetics experts on all areas of the face and body. We never ask our trainees to supply their own models, we provide all the models and we strictly abide by HEE guidelines and guarantee to provide ample models to train on. All our trainees will be provided with uniforms and lunch.
